Music at Raise the Roof

  • 10:00 DHHS Jazz Ensemble
    The Daniel Hand High School Jazz Band is an auditioned ensemble comprised of 9th-12th graders in the DHHS bands. Striving to perform a wide array of musical styles, the group plays everything from 1920’s swing to Latin jazz to progressive rock. May 11th’s performance will include music by Count Basie, Stevie Wonder, Duke Ellington, Norah Jones, Julian Adderly, and Chicago.

  • 11:00 Andrew and The Hurricanes
    A modern rock band with a lot of classic rock flavors. They play their own songs with an ear to the past and play the songs of our heroes with an ear on themselves.

  • 12:00 Claire Gumbrecht
    Claire is a junior and attends 2 high schools- Daniel Hand in Madison and the Educational Center of the Arts in New Haven for dance. In her ‘spare’ time she loves playing guitar and singing.

  • 1:00 Avery van Pelt
    Avery, musician and songwriter, is a senior at Notre Dame High School in West Haven and has been playing guitar since he was 12. Avery lives in Killingworth and plays at local venues as well as on Sundays at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Madison.

    404ERROR is a feminist post-punk trio, made up of Nina Donoghue (vocals/guitar), Quinn Nace (bass), and Jen Ongley (drums). The members are all from Madison. They like cats, cake, and the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
