The Raise the Roof community had the fun of celebrating the May 11, 2024 build kickoff of 123 Main Street Annex, New Haven with Aniluz Guzman, her family and friends, and volunteers from First Congregational Church of Madison, CT, who got the building started that day. At the close of First Church Madison’s work day, Raise the Roof, Habitat for Humanity of Greater New Haven, and friends and family of Aniluz gathered to celebrate the exciting beginning of a journey to homeownership.

Our Summer 2024 Scrapbook shares a beautiful look at the volunteers who went on to give summer days to build at Main Street Annex. The home of Aniluz was one of three Habitat homes being built side by side—future neighbors—on Main Street Annex.

Aniluz and a community of volunteers who believe in helping one another completed the building of the house in November and celebrated a heartwarming November 23, 2024 dedication. (Photos farther below.)
