Raise the Roof believes that everyone deserves a decent, affordable and safe place to live. To honor this belief, we work to bring the Shoreline community together to partner with families and help them build and own Habitat homes. Our “building” consists not only of the physical work; we raise awareness of the need for such housing, raise funds to sponsor the work, and seek out volunteers to serve alongside families and help them build.

Raise the Roof works within the 501(c )(3) of Habitat for Humanity of Greater New Haven.

Use the link to the event’s sponsor packet and share forward. If a business, organization or individual donates to you at one of our sponsor levels, the donation will be counted in your votes/funds raised, and the donor will receive the sponsor perks that come with that level. If a business, organization, or individual needs the tax id number or additional information, reach out. If you need help “closing” a deal, we’re happy to help so that you can realize “your” sponsorship support.

At the bottom of your fundraising page, you’ll see a growing list of campaign activity. If you are logged into your page, you are able to reply to donations and comments. Scroll through the list and under each donation or comment shared by someone, there will be a ‘Reply’ option. The person will receive an email notification of you’re comment.

The platform requires a fundraising goal. We have filled in the same amount across all of the dancers’ pages. You can change or update your goal at any time. To change your goal, log into your fundraising page and tap the ‘Manage’ button at the top right of the page. On the page that comes up, look for the menu bar running horizontally across the page and tap ‘Details.’ Partway down the next page, you will see where you can change your goal. After making the change, look for the ‘Save’ button at the bottom of the page.

An important fundraising practice is to increase your goal when your donation total is getting close.

If someone would like to make a donation in the form of a check or cash, we can manually input that amount into your fundraising page with the donor acknowledged. We need to have received the check or money before we can credit your page. Checks should be made payable to Habitat for Humanity of Greater New Haven with Raise the Roof in the memo line along with the name of the dance couple being supported.
